This atlas currently consists of seven chapters each containing a brief introduction about the chapter topic as well as a brief review of the way in which these materials are classified. Each section contains at least forty photomicrographs and an identification and description block. These photomicrographs can be viewed in three different ways:
A presentation of a screen containing a thumbnail view of all of the photomicrographs in the section which can be expanded when clicked on. This mode is especially useful when trying to match a sample to the atlas.
A sequential run through all of the photomicrographs in the section. (Scroll)
A presentation of the classification scheme of the materials in a given section in which photomicrograph examples of each classification category can be called up. (Tutorial)
