 The red material here is vitrinite. Note how it occurs as distinct red layers and in layers where it acts as a matrix. All of the yellow features are sporinite and the black areas are inertinite with a fusinite/semifusinite maceral in the center of the field.The red ovoid in the center of the frame is resinite Note how the other macerals are compressed around the fusinite/semifusinite and the resinite  indicating that they were rigid when they were incorporated into the parent peat.
