The red material here is vitrinite. All of the yellow features are sporinite. The orange ovoids are resinite. Note the deformation of the other macerals around the resinites. This indicates that the resinites were rigid when they were incorporated into the peat that formed the coal. Also note the rims around some of the resinite bodies which are usually attributed to weathering before incorporation into the coal forming peat The overall texture of this field shows vitrinite acting as a matrix in which all of the other macerals are embedded.
