Frame ID: TS41

The red material is vitrinite except for the large ovoid resibite in the center of the field. Note the deformation of the other macerals around the resinite bodies. This indicates that the resinite was rigid when it was incorporated into the peat that formed the coal. The black features are inertinite and the yellow material is sporinite except for the double yellow cutinite stringer immediately above the resinite and the yellow fluorinate at the top of the frame. The striations running across the frame are artifacts from polishing. (transmitted light, Harlan Seam, eastern Kentucky, width of field, left to right: ~750 µm)
