The central feature is resinite as are the four smaller yellow bodies around it. Note the darker edges around the resinie indicating weathering before deposition. The fact that the upper edge of the resinite is flat and has no weathering edge suggests that this resinite body has been fractured. The red matrix material is vitrinite and the black material is inertinite. (transmitted light, Harlan Seam, eastern Kentucky, width of field, left to right: ~350 µm)
